English Foreign Language Teaching (EFL) : TELF and TESL

All but the
smaller academies require that you have some sort of qualification in English Foreign Language (EFL) teaching.

TEFL stands for Teacher of English as a Foreign Language
(foreign students whose language is not English)

and

TESL (Teacher of English as a Second Language).
(all learners whose first language is not English)

A typical Teaching Course lasts around 1 month encompassing around 120 hours and supervised teaching practice of between four and six hours. Good TEFL Courses in Barcelona cost over 1,500€

Certification can be achieved online, however it lacks the all important supervised teaching practice and the skills to hit the floor running.

CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)

The United Kingdom based teaching qualification CELTA is taught around the world, and is often regarded as more prestigious than others. It can be focused on Teaching Business English. With an emphasis on grammar. It involves at least a month long intensive training course or longer.
